On March 4, 2007 in a speech to the Lincoln Club Annual Dinner, Senator Thompson said this about immigration, "The government could start by securing our nation's borders. A sovereign nation that can't do that is not a sovereign nation. This is secondarily an immigration issue. It's primarily a national security issue. We were told twenty years ago if we produced a comprehensive solution, we'd solve the illegal immigration problem. Twelve million illegals later, we're being told that same thing again. I don't believe most Americans are as concerned about the 12 million that are here as they are about the next 12 million and the next 12 million after that. It was not a crime to reveal Valerie Plame's name because she was not a covert agent. If it had been a crime, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald could have wrapped up his investigation with an indictment of the State Department's Richard Armitage on the first day of his investigation since it was Armitage who revealed her name and Fitzgerald knew it.

With no crime to investigate, Fitzgerald pursued a pointless investigation into nothing, getting a lot of White House officials to make statements under oath and hoping some of their recollections would end up conflicting with other witness recollections, so he could charge some Republican with "perjury" and enjoy the fawning media attention.

As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger.

This makes it official: It's illegal to be Republican.

Their paltry thousand signatures should be overwhelmed by tens of thousands of signatures of patriotic American military, serving in the hot zones all over the world, putting their lives on the line for you and for me.

As a patriotic American proud to serve the nation in uniform and place my life on the line in defense of freedom, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to unconditionally support all American military forces and to cease denigrating us by comparing us with Nazis and followers of Pol Pot and calling us murderers. "Chris Daughtry's self-titled album, Daughtry, is everything his American Idol fans hoped it would be and much, much more! The first release off the album, "It's Not Over", is phenomenal! The alternative edge to the music, Chris' powerful, sexy voice and the amazing energy he brings to everything he does just blows the listener away. I can't stop listening to this awesome song! "Home", another song off the album, is haunting and uplifting. I love the values woven into this song as well as the slower tempo and, again, Chris' amazing vocals. My favorite line in the song is "where your love has always been enough for me". That really speaks to and honors the heart of any man, woman or family who has a loved one returning home."

No Greater Love by Jeff Emanuel - HUMAN EVENTS

On April 14, 2004, Corporal Dunham heroically saved the lives of two of his fellow Marines by jumping on a grenade during an ambush in the town of Karabilah.

When a nearby Marine convoy was ambushed, Corporal Dunham led his squad to the site of the attack, where he and his men stopped a convoy of cars trying to make an escape. As he moved to search one of the vehicles, an insurgent jumped out and grabbed the corporal by the throat.

The corporal engaged the enemy in hand-to-hand combat. At one point, he shouted to his fellow Marines, “No! No! No! Watch his hand!”

Moments later, an enemy grenade rolled out and Corporal Dunham jumped on the grenade to protect his fellow Marines, using his helmet and body to absorb the blast. Corporal Dunham succumbed to his wounds on April 22, 2004.

The Military Channel plans to use servicemember-submitted video for broadcast during nightly one-hour blocks of programming starting in early February, 2007. The dates and times have not been specified yet. He pleaded repeatedly with the Democratic Congress simply to authorize aid to South Vietnam—no troops, just money.

But the Democrats turned their backs on South Vietnam, betrayed an ally and trashed America's word. Within a month of Ford's last appeal to Congress to help South Vietnam, Saigon fell."

Parents seeking a more accurate way to detect drug use than smelling their children’s breath or looking into their eyes are turning to businesses such TestMyTeen.com, a Web site that sells home drug-testing kits. Since 1999, sales of home test kits have more than doubled, to $6 billion last year, according to an industry group that tracks such sales. Prices range from around $15 for kits that test urine for 10 different drugs, to $90 for kits that test hair clippings and claim to detect drugs consumed months earlier. The American Academy of Pediatrics discourages such testing, saying kits fail to advise parents of the limitations of the tests, including the chances for false-positive readings. And experts say there’s no evidence that such tests, even if accurate, curb drug abuse. But as one parent who said he regularly tested his child for drugs at home said, the kits work where talking fails.

Archeologists working in Guatemala have unearthed a monument with the earliest-known depiction of a woman of authority in ancient Mayan culture, the Canadian leader of the research team said on Monday.
The 2-meter high (6-1/2 foot high) limestone monument, called a stela, has a portrait of a female who could be either a ruler or a mythical goddess, said Kathryn Reese-Taylor, a University of Calgary archeologist.
The stela may date from the late 4th Century A.D., making it as much as 200 years older than previously discovered monuments depicting powerful Mayan women, said Reese-Taylor, whose international team made the find earlier this year.
'It's unique in that it shows a woman in a really early period in Maya history, a period when the city states were being founded and dynasties were being instituted,' she said.
Archeologists found the stela -- the likes of which normally describe events in the lives of kings -- at the site of Naachtun, a Mayan city 90 km (55 miles) north of the more famous site of Tikal.
It was buried inside an ancient building, and some of the inscriptions had been hacked off, suggesting it had been a casualty in an invasion of the city, possibly by forces from Tikal at the end of the 5th Century, she said.
'This was not unusual ... that they hack off or break stela. But one thing that was left on this stela was the name of the individual, and that is the name of a woman,' Reese-Taylor said.
The name translates into Lady Partition Lord, she said.

It is Time

Throughout my life, I've made a habit of looking for the good in people around me. I spend my time looking for the things I have in common with others and the things I can love about them. I have found this approach to life to be very fulfilling.

Today, when I turn on the news or go to a newsgroup, I find so many looking for the bad in others. I find so many looking for the differences. I read the messages that spew hate, intolerance and derision of another person's views, morals and way of life. I ask myself over and over: Why? Why would anyone want to pursue life in such a negative, destructive way?

I think we all know that if you look for the bad in everything, then you will find the bad in everything. If you look for the good in everything, then you will find the good in everything. How you choose to approach life is your choice. It's one of the many freedoms we have and many are, in my opinion, failing to choose wisely. Again, I ask myself: Why?

When given the choice to be happy or sad, I choose to be happy. When given the choice to love or hate, I choose to love. When given the choice to laugh or cry, I laugh. When given the choice to make a new friend or make a new enemy, I choose to make a new friend. Now seriously, there is nothing altogether special about me. I'm just a normal person, living a normal life. So, it makes me wonder why so many people choose to be sad, choose to hate, choose to cry and choose to make enemies when they have the choice to be and do the complete opposite.

Whatever has caused this change in people, because it is a change, is slowly, but surely, tearing our world apart. If we choose to embrace the negative, then that is what will grow in our lives and in our world. It is a choice to make. We have the power to make that choice and not have it made for us. If we want our world and our lives to be better, then we all have to start choosing wisely.

It is my hope that we will all start to think more and plan better very soon. If we do not start choosing to be positive, there will be nothing left to be positive about.

I want to love. I want to make new friends. I want to laugh and be happy. I know that is what others want as well. It is time to break the negative cycle. It is time to stop feeding the negativity. It is time to choose to live life positively. It is time to feed the positivity. It is time to wake up. It is time to make a choice to find the good in others. It is time to find reasons to love one another. It is time to make new friends. It is time to affect others in a positive way. It is time to lift one another up.

It is time.
